Gun Transfers
We will receive guns for you, or ship guns for you

Shipping Firearms
(quoted from NRA "A Citizen's Guide to Federal Firearms Laws"©)

Firearms may not be mailed or shipped interstate from one non-FFL to another non-FFL. Personally owned rifles and shotguns may be mailed or shipped to an FFL in any state for any lawful purpose, including sale, repair, or customizing. An FFL may ship a firearm or replacement firearm of the same kind and type to a person from whom it was received. Under U.S. Postal regulations, handguns may be sent via the Postal Service only from one FFL to another FFL, or between authorized government officials.

A person may ship a rifle or shotgun to himself, in care of a person who lives in another state, for purposes of hunting.

Firearms or ammunition delivered to a common carrier for shipment must be accompanied by a written notice to the carrier of the contents of the shipment.

Our Fee:

1. Regular Rifles, Shotguns, & Handguns (i.e. "Title 1 weapons"):
$25.00 plus Texas sales tax

2. NFA Weapons
(Machineguns, Silencers, Short-barrel Rifles, Short-barrel Shotguns, AOWs, etc.):
$50.00 plus Texas sales tax

Delivery time:

1. Regular Rifles, Shotguns, & Handguns (i.e. "Title 1 weapons"):
 • The other dealer can ship to us immediately after you pay them.
 • We will call you to come pick the gun up as soon as it arrives.

2. NFA Weapons
(Machineguns, Silencers, Short-barrel Rifles, Short-barrel Shotguns, AOWs, etc.):

 • The other dealer will fax a dealer-dealer "Transfer" request to the ATF immediately after you pay for the weapon. ATF approval for the dealer-dealer transfer usually takes 3 to 4 weeks. After that, the other dealer can ship to us.
 • We will call you as soon as we receive the weapon, so that you can get the required paperwork (ATF Form 4 & Fingerprint Cards). After you return the completed paperwork to us, it will then take 3 to 4 months for the ATF to approve the the transfer from us to you.

Procedures:

1. Regular Rifles, Shotguns, & Handguns (i.e. "Title 1 weapons"):
 •
Pay the dealer you are buying the gun from (gun cost plus shipping to us), and tell us who that dealer is.
 • We will call you when we receive the gun.
 • When you come in to our store, you will complete the normal ATF Form 4473 Transaction Record, and we will get a telephone approval from the ATF for you to purchase the weapon (National Instant criminal background Check System [NICS]). The NICS check is NOT required for Texas Concealed Handgun License (CHL) holders.
 • We will charge you a $25.00 dealer transfer fee plus 6.25% Texas Sales Tax on the purchase price of the gun. The sales tax is required by Texas law to be paid on the full purchase price that you gave to the other dealer.

2. NFA Weapons
(Machineguns, Silencers, Short-barrel Rifles, Short-barrel Shotguns, AOWs, etc.):
 • Pay the dealer you are buying the gun from (gun cost plus shipping to us), and tell us who that dealer is.
 • We will call you when we receive the gun.
 • You will need to come in to our shop to get the required paperwork with our dealer information and the weapon description / serial number on the form (ATF Form 4 & Fingerprint Cards).
 • Return the completed Form 4 to us, with the signature of your local Chief Law Enforcement Officer and a passport photo attached to the back of each copy, plus completed Fingerprint Cards, and a check or money order for the $200 Federal Transfer Tax ($5 for AOW) payable to the ATF.
 • We will submit the Form 4, Fingerprint Cards and your check to the ATF.
 • We will call you to come take possession of the weapon when we receive the ATF approval.
 • We will charge you a $50.00 dealer transfer fee plus 6.25% Texas Sales Tax on the purchase price of the gun. The sales tax is required by Texas law to be paid on the full purchase price that you gave to the other dealer.
