This round is designed to feed and function M16/M4 weapons in this caliber in both semi- and full auto. It utilizes a 220-gr. projectile. Also works in Kalashnikov weapons with slight ramping. Cycles both weapons with or without a suppressor. Independent testing has given sub-1/2 MOA accuracy at 100 yards using aimed semiautomatic fire. Light recoil and enhanced controllability make this ammunition extremely effective in full automatic mode. A true breakthrough in subsonic ammunition in this caliber.
Sold by the BOX (50 rounds per box) WARNING! Do not fire any subsonic rifle caliber ammunition in H & K Firearms, or any firearm which has a fluted chamber. This type of chamber prevents cartridge case obturation (breech seal), allowing some of the propellent gasses to escape out of the breech, thus allowing the possibility of a projectile lodging in the bore. AR-15/M16 WARNING When utilizing this ammunition in an AR-15/M16 type weapon it is EXTREMELY IMPORTANT that the user follow these instructions: 1. MAKE CERTAIN that the chamber is clean and free of fouling. Brush it out with an M16 chamber brush prior to loading. 2. MAKE CERTAIN that the bolt is fully seated. Give the Forward Assist button a sharp rap. A condition has been noted in which the bolt is closed far enough to allow the firing pin to strike the primer, but the bolt is not 100% closed and locked. This condition causes the cartridge case to fail to obturate, allowing propellant gasses to escape to the rear and will stick a projectile in the bore, causing a potentially dangerous condition, should the user somehow fail to notice that the projectile did not exit the muzzle / suppressor. Some firearms will not function correctly with any subsonic ammunition although they will function with High Velocity cartridges. This is usually due to a rough, shot-out bore or (rarely) an out-of-spec chamber. If a particular weapon does not function with subsonic ammunition after following the above directions, chances are it is one of these weapons and barrel replacement is indicated if the operator wishes to utilize subsonic ammunition. Decrease in performance with High Velocity ammunition normally will occur shortly thereafter in the service life of such weapons. It is the responsibility of the operator to use this ammunition intelligently. If the user has any questions whatsoever, he should call the manufacturer at (512) 360-5327. SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE OF SUBSONIC AMMUNITION: 1. ALWAYS ENSURE THAT THE WEAPON IS CLEAN BEFORE FIRING SUBSONIC AMMUNITION. A DIRTY BORE CREATES A DANGEROUS SITUATION. 2. ALWAYS ENSURE THAT THE PREVIOUS PROJECTILE EXITED THE BORE BEFORE LOADING OR FIRING THE NEXT ROUND. IF IN DOUBT, STOP AND INSPECT THE BORE. 3. ALWAYS TREAT SUBSONIC AMMUNITION AND THE WEAPONS IT IS IN WITH THE SAME RESPECT GIVEN ANY OTHER AMMUNITION AND WEAPON. JUST BECAUSE IT IS QUIET DOES NOT MEAN THAT IT IS NOT AS DANGEROUS AS ANY OTHER WEAPON SYSTEM. These instructions are necessary because subsonic ammunition is not a "one size fits all" proposition due to variances in bore size and comparative smoothness or roughness, and because chamber dimensions are not all the same. While reasonable care is exercised in the production of this ammunition and it functions in most weapons satisfactorily, it is the end user's responsibility to ensure that his particular weapon works safely with this specialized ammunition.
